To be eligible for B'nai Mitzvah, students must be enrolled in our Religious School program including both Judaic Studies and Hebrew classes, or an approved equivalent, through the seventh grade. Any student not attending a Hebrew program for a minimum of three years prior to the Bar/ Bat Mitzvah year will be evaluated prior to having a date assigned. Bar/Bat Mitzvah does not mark the conclusion of a young person's religious education at Temple Emanu El. Following seventh grade, all students are required to continue their Jewish education through Grade 12 with Confirmation being held in 10th Grade.
