Temple Emanu El’s youth groups offer social, educational and religious experiences for students in grades 5 to 12. Programs include youth led services, camp experiences, retreats, planning the Temple’s annual Purim Carnival and much more.
5th and 6th Grade Gesher Programs focus on socialization and forming cohesive groups. Every year, these students have the chance to have some fun outside of the religious school environment. Normally two events are held every year – one around Chanukah and one in the spring. The students get to have fun with their Temple friends and hopefully connect with them outside of the classroom environment. All programs do contain a small Jewish component that the students can help create..

Junior TEEn Kolel Youth Group (grades 7 & 8) is an exciting way for younger students to get a taste of the fun and enjoyment of Senior Youth Group. Every student who is a part of the Monday evening program is a member of the Junior TEEn Kolel youth group. The events are social with a Jewish component included and are a part of the TEEn Kolel evening schedule. There will also be opportunities for these students to get together outside of the Monday evening program. -
Senior Youth Group (TEMTY) (grades 9-12)is a fantastic opportunity for teens to spend time with their Temple friends away from the structure of the classroom. Every student who is a part of the Monday evening program is a member of the Senior TEEn Kolel youth group. All events are meant to be social and fun, as well as containing a Jewish component. Very often this component takes the form of community service, supporting both Jewish and non-Jewish organizations. This is a great opportunity for students to begin to develop leadership skills. The Senior Youth Group members also organize our congregation’s annual Purim Carnival as well as help create events for the Junior Youth Group and other younger students.

For more information on events, please visit the Temple Calendar or contact Renee Dunmead, Education Director, at 216/454-1300 ext. 214.
